TOBSPA redefines excellence

The Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines Association (TOBSPA), the association of the winners of the annual search for the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines, launched a program dubbed “TOBSPA at 15: Redefining Excellence.”

The TOBSPA aims to sustain its three-pronged efforts in 2010 – membership involvement, organization branding, and reaching out; its strategic direction for all initiatives in celebrating its 15 years of service to the BSP.  As the developmental arm of the BSP, TOBSPA commits itself to assist the BSP to deliver quality activities to the Filipino Scouts in pursuit of character building and citizenship training.  read more

TOBSPA pioneers Social Accountability Module

Even as tired Scouts trudged into the Jamboree site, colorful banners greeted them, raising heads with a series of Asian characters that fulfill specific roles in society.  Curious Scouts in various sub-camps could be heard asking questions about the newest module in the APR Jamboree.

The Social Accountability (SAc) activity is the most unique of the modules presented at the Jamboree.  For most Scouts, learning about the issues of leadership and collaboration via community immersions was a one-of-a-kind experience.  read more

BSP announces 2009 outstanding scouts, TOBSPA welcomes new members

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) announced the awardees of the 2009 Search for the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines during the Awarding Ceremonies at the Session Hall of Makati City Hall last October 1, 2009.  The awardees are: Giancarlo P. Ventura (Cagayan North-Tuguegarao), Pananalig R. Bautista (Baguio City), Joshua Carlo T. Pile (Bulacan), George O. Tanlimco Jr. (Manila), Patrick Dave Q. Bugarin (Rizal), Kevin Martin C. Faltado (Batangas City), Leonard Joshua N. Pena (Lipa City), Anthoddiemn Olin M. Navarro (Negros Occidental), Rhomeljustein C. Redoble (Cebu), and Ronald Rey M. Adalim (Cebu).   read more

BSP, TOBSPA celebrates 20 years of TOBS Search

In partnership with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines Association (TOBSPA) celebrated the 20 years of the Search for the Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines with a Grand TOBS Homecoming on October 1, 2009 at Grand Villa Hotel, Pateros, Metro Manila.  

The celebration was graced by BSP Secretary General J. Rizal C. Pangilinan who delivered the message of BSP National President Hon. Jejomar C. Binay.  He was joined by BSP Vice President for Mindanao, Atty. Allan Zulueta and National Scout Shop Director, Mr. Art Sales.   read more

TOBSPA condoles with the families of Maguindanao massacre victims

The Association expresses its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims of Maguindanao massacre.

TOBSPA mourns the death of Atty. Concepcion Jayme-Brizuela, a human and women’s rights lawyer in Mindanao.  She is a founding member of Union for People’s Lawyers in MIndanao (UPLM) and a co-convenor of Initiatives for Peace (INPEACE).

Atty. Brizuela is the aunt of Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Jr., TOBS 1993 and TOBSPA representative for Western Visayas.

TOBSPA conducts relief operations for Ondoy victims

TOBSPA conducted an outreach activity for school children affected by typhoon Ondoy in San Jose Elementary School, Montalban, Rizal last October 17, 2009.  The Association distributed school supplies, including bags, notebooks, pad papers, pencils and crayons, to more than 200 pupils of the said school. 

The activity was implemented with the assistance of the Senior Scouts of Roosevelt College Rodriguez in Rizal.   read more
